Elements of landscape, large and small, ancient or fresh and new are the inspiration for my printmaking. The images demonstrate a diverse range of printmaking techniques. From great trees to tiny seedheads, etching, woodcut, collograph and stencil print are all used to portray the rich patterns, forms, textures and drama that we all appreciate in the landscapes that surround us.
Making original prints, 'new images', not copies or photographic reproductions but prints where I am involved in all stages of the work from original drawings to the choice of printmaking technique is an extension of my work as an art teacher in secondary schools and colleges. After a long career working with others I am now enjoying extending my own career as an artist.
A member of the Sudbourne Park Printmakers I have recently exhibited work with the group at the Fisher Theatre Gallery in Bungay, the Sudbourne Park Printmakers Studio exhibition and at the Peter Pears Gallery in Aldeburgh. Most recently I have shown my work in a solo exhibition at the Spiral Gallery in Debenham.
