Suzanne gained a degree in in Jewellery and Silversmithing at Loughborough College of Art and Design. From there she became Artist in Residence at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Berkshire for two years followed by a full time teaching post in the Design department at Eton College for eleven years.
Suzanne moved to Suffolk in 2003 to set up her own business designing, making and selling her collections and running jewellery courses. Since then, Suzanne has studied dichroic glass making and now includes this in her courses. She teaches at Snape Maltings and at the Abbey School, Woodbridge. Suzanne also designs the collections for Jungle Berry, a Fair Trade company. Made in the Brazilian Rainforest, her jewellery sells internationally as well as to Oxfam to sell in their shops.
Etching plays a key role in her jewellery creating surface pattern, texture and a literary content. At Sudbourne, Suzanne continues to enjoy experimenting with the etching process. Using a jeweller’s piercing saw, she makes detailed shapes which give her prints their own distinctive and quirky style. Sudbourne days are special to her – a creative indulgence with wonderful people!
